Translation: We sell low price domain name registration. Through us your domain name will be posted to Network Solutions. And, we will service your domain name account during its term with us. When we build your Website, we can also help you to develop a domain name to support it. Please feel free to review our domain name registrant's Service Agreement (a 527 Kb .pdf document from .ftp site). Your purchase of a domain name indicates that you have read, understood, and accept this agreement. You may also want to see the Network Solutions privacy statement and legal notice regarding their site. Some basic guidelines ... When choosing a name, use only letters, numbers, or single hyphens ("-"). However, your name cannot begin or end with a hyphen. Shoot for a name of 64 characters or less (certain web browsers and other programs may not support names over 26 characters). Besides, for marketing purposes, the shorter it is, the better. Be very cautious when asking someone to do the registration work for you. Many site developers will assign themselves as the Owners and/or Administrative Contacts for the name. Then, if you ever need to make a change, it's a hassle. We have helped clients through that problem, too. (In fact, this is one of our favorite rants.) |
Don't make the same mistake as one person who asked us to help him out of a hole. Without his name on the account (set up through a different company), he never received any renewal notices. One day he went to his site only to find its access had been cancelled. (See what happens if your domain expires.) And, yes, we were able to help him. Here's how we work differently: When we register your domain name, you will be both the Owner and Administrative Contact on the account. You will be in control of your own destiny. We will be listed as the Technical Contact only. You will see this immediately whenever you log in to your password-protected domain account. So, you will get those renewal reminders. usage, etc.) please note that we have adopted and enforce the ICANN Uniform Dispute Resolution Policy. The forum used to handle such disputes is the U.N.'s World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). A list of all applicable dispute policies is included in the above Service Agreement. |
